Ivan Smolnikov, CEO of ABBYY Language Services, and Ekaterina Solntseva, Vice President of the ABBYY headquarters, met with Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, and discussed the program of language support for the World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan.
The program of language support will provide a comfortable communication environment to foreign guests of the Universiade 2013, and among other things, it will increase the attractiveness of Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan for foreign visitors.
The Program provides for: establishment of an information and reference Call Center that will support eight languages; development of a special mobile application that will help foreigners navigate the city; localization of information materials for various service companies.
ABBYY Language Services is developing comprehensive programs of linguistic support for the tourist resort areas of the Russian Federation, as well as for cities hosting international sporting events.
Thus, a true barrier-free language environment will be created in Sochi in the framework of the Program of Linguistic Support for the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in 2014 which was approved by the Government of the Russian Federation and is currently being carried out by the Administration of the city of Sochi, ABBYY Language Services and MegaFon. em>Universiade 2013 will be the seventeenth of its kind and will welcome young athletes from around the world. Preparations for the Summer Student Games are well under way: the sports facilities are under construction, and a strong focus is on the infrastructure of the city. The Games will involve 64 sites, 36 of them being built especially for the Universiade 2013.
